A setting of the Latin mass that has been called the summation of Bach’s life both musically and spiritually.

Soloists: Anne Grimm (Soprano), Sarah Fryer (Mezzo Soprano), Benjamin Butterfield (Tenor) and Nathaniel Watson (Bass).

Tickets: $30 adult, $15 student, and free for accompanied children 12 & under. Tickets will be available early in May for this June 9 performance.

JS Bach’s Saint Matthew Passion

The St. Matthew Passion is J.S. Bach’s most profound and moving work, dramatic, passionate, and lyrical. This performance, just before Easter weekend, 2011, will feature VancouverVoices, VancouverVoicesYouth and the Victoria Philharmonic Choir, as well as members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. International soloists will include Stephen Varcoe (Christus), Benjamin Butterfield (Evangelist), Sarah Fryer (mezzo arias), Jennifer Farrell (soprano arias), Mark De Silva (tenor arias).
